In-Gallery exhibit

Our first in-Gallery exhibition of 2024 will feature feature artworks that reflect upon and consider the 7 Deadly Sins: pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth. All explorations & interpretations of this theme are invited with works in all media, styles and techniques encouraged. Open to STL regional artists 18+. Jurors: Norleen Nosri, artist, Professor, St. Louis Community College Forest Park; and St. Louis artist & art educator Brian Lathan.

Virtue
January 6-February 14, 2024
Virtual Gallery Exhibition*

Our first virtual gallery exhibition of 2024 will present original 2-d artworks that that explore and celebrate the human virtues of wisdom, courage, humanity, justice, temperance, and transcendence. Bookend exhibit to run concurrently with in-gallery Sin City exhibit. Open to STL regional artists 18+. All interpretations of this theme were encouraged. 2-d works in all styles, genres, techniques encouraged. Juror: Robin Hirsch-Steinhoff, Artistic Director, Art Saint Louis. This exhibit is virtual and will presented entirely and exclusively online on the ASL website.

Varsity Art 28
March 1-28, 2024
In-Gallery and Virtual gallery exhibition

Twenty-eighth annual invitational group exhibition curated by art faculties from 21 STL regional colleges and universities in Missouri and Illinois. For this annual invitational exhibit, art Professors select up to two outstanding undergrad or grad level art students to represent their institution in this multi-media group exhibition. Regional colleges/universities (within 200 miles of St. Louis) interested in participating in this exhibit in 2025 can email robin_at_artstlouis.org for deadlines and participation obligations.

Window to the Soul
April 13-May 16, 2024

This all media juried exhibition will feature feature artworks that consider spirituality as well as works that focus on the eyes. All explorations & interpretations of this theme are invited with works in all media, styles and techniques encouraged. Jurors: Najjar Abdul-Musawwir, artist, Professor, School of Art & Design and Africana Studies, Judge William Holmes Cook Endowed Professorship, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and Dawn Blum, artist, Curator, William & Florence Schmidt Art Center, Belleville, IL; MFA Fontbonne University (2012) and BA in Environmental Studies, Maryville University of St. Louis (2002).

Honor Awards 2024

Annual juried exhibit featuring works by ten Award-winning artists selected from our 2022 juried exhibitions. Only the 40 artists who receive Awards of Excellence in our 2022 exhibits are eligible for this exhibit. Juror: Tony Borchardt, sculptor, Professor of Art, Fontbonne University, St. Louis, MO.

This all media juried exhibition will feature feature artworks that are intented to shock. All explorations & interpretations of this theme are invited with works in all media, styles and techniques encouraged. Open to STL regional artists 18+. Jurors: Dail Chambers, St. Louis-based Award-winning artist, creative consultant, educator, community activist, maker, thinker; Nick Nihira, artist, Professor of Art, Jefferson College, Hillsboro, MO. MFA Washington University in St. Louis, BFA Columbus College of Art & Design. We invite provocative artworks that push boundaries with subject matter and imagery intended to shock*, startle, surprise, confront, or disarm viewers.
